CAMX, a success for seven consortium colleges

By Sue Bradshaw

CAMX, the Composites and Advanced Materials Expo was held last week in Orlando.

Through the 2013-2014 Aerospace Special Projects grant, 13 faculty and staff from seven community and technical colleges within the Composites Washington consortium were able to attend this conference.

With over 550 companies in an exhibit hall that covers more than 355,000 square feet, our college faculty were able to visit and interact with vendors from across the country.

Not only that, with three full days for sessions and tutorials, faculty and staff were able to gather information on the latest research and updates from industry within the composites field.

Composites Washington also was one of the exhibitors during the conference and was visited by industry representatives.

We made many connections within the composites industry that are anxious to work with Washington State’s ¬†community and technical colleges through the donation of supplies and materials, student certifications, etc.
